Wanda Rudean Piper age 93, was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. She lived her life for the Lord and made sure everyone she came into contact with knew about Him. Wanda loved to cook, watch Alabama football, and spend time with her family. She was a truly selfless woman, always thinking of others first.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Thomas “Buck” Piper; parents John Isaac and Josie Hollis; grandson Johnathan Piper; and a host of siblings.
She is survived by her children- Tom Piper (Linda), Mark Piper, and Matt Piper (Tasha); grandchildren- Mark Piper Jr. (Jana), Josh Piper (Erin), Hayden Piper (Abby), Matthew Wade Piper, Chris Piper (Tammy), and Mindy Piper; great grandchildren- Avery, Amelia, Paisleigh, and Remy Sue.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 1:30pm from New Horizon Chapel. Burial will follow in Freewill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home directing 205-648-2323
