Wanda Marie Staggs Thompson, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Waynesboro, TN. Wanda’s journey began in Collinwood, TN, where she was born to the late Floyd and Inavey Brewer Staggs. On July 04, 1964, Wanda entered a beautiful marriage with Joseph T. Thompson. Wanda was a member of the McGlamery Church in Collinwood TN. Throughout her life Wanda touched many hearts through her work as a waitress at Melvin’s Dairy Bar and as a clerk at Collinwood Drugs. Her dedication and warmth made every encounter special. Beyond her professional life, Wanda cherished moments spent outdoors, tending to her flowers, gliding on the lawn mower with a sense of freedom, and also enjoyed going on shopping trips.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Joseph T. Thompson of Iron City, TN.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Scott and Babe Staggs; and her sister, Ann Staggs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with John E. Banks and Kevin Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
