Mrs. Wanda Lastinger Milford (Sparkles), 72, of Spring Hill, TN, entered into rest on September 14, 2026.
Wanda was born on July 5, 1954 in Enigma, GA to Kennis & Peggy Lastinger. She grew up in Enigma and Tifton, Georgia before she moved to Brunswick, Georgia.
Wanda met the love of her life, Dale Milford, at Golden Isles Speedway and they married in Brunswick, Georgia on May 18, 1974. They were married for 30 years and built a life in Jacksonville, FL & Augusta, GA.
She worked as the Chief Financial Officer of Professional Marketing, Inc for 14 years alongside Dale. She was known for her sparkling personality, selflessness and caring spirit.
Above all, Sparkles valued family. Whether hosting holiday gatherings for extended family or simply spending an afternoon with her children and grandchildren, she found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. Sparkles was a constant source of support and encouragement for her grandchildren in any of their personal achievements and endeavors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, on June 13, 2004, and is survived by her children, Jason Milford (Christi) of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Laura Brown (Blake) of Rome, Georgia, grandchildren Dallen Milford, Hughes Milford and Millie Blayke Brown. Additional survivors include her mother, Peggy Lastinger, brother Karl Lastinger (Marie) and sister Ruth Lastinger as well as several nieces and nephews.
A devoted follower of Christ, Sparkles was a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia for many years before moving to Tennessee. Most recently, she was a member of Thompson Station Church and a special part of the Women of All Ages life group.
Pallbearers will be nephews Michael Lastinger and Evan Lastinger as well as members of the Independence High School Cross Country team Rowan Stolle, Jeremiah Wambaugh, William McMillan, and Callix Yelton.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 10:00am to noon at Thompson Station Church, Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, with a service to follow.
A second visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 10:00am to noon at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, Georgia, with a graveside service to follow at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, Georgia.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin and Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro for the love, patience, and compassionate care shown to Sparkles.
