Wanda Jean Whisenant Malone, 74 of Arab passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at Diversicare of Arab. Wanda was born December 12, 1948 in Morgan County, the daughter of John H. Briscoe and Violet Dorothy Whisenant. She was raised in the home of her grandparents: Dowl and Meeter Whisenant. She was a CNA for over 20 years at the Arab Nursing Home before her health began to decline.
She is survived by her children: Jeanie Green, husband Rodney and Byron Ledbetter; grandchildren: Meagen Stuart (Keith Smith), Emma Stuart, Caleb Guy Stuart (Emily), Joshua Bailey Stuart and Catie Beth; sisters: Frankie Jo Lamb (Billy), Pam Owen (Wade) and Beth Briscoe; brothers: Kenneth Thomas and John H. Briscoe, Jr.; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by son: Gregory Mac “Little Mac” Ledbetter, parents: John H. Briscoe and Violet D. Briscoe, grandparents: Dowl and Meeter Whisenant and a sister: Jan Flynt.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Joey Staton officiating. The burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Rodney Green, Billy Stuart, Jimmy Bradley, Brad Tittle, Joey Light, David Wilmore and Cecil Polk.
