Wanda Fay Thornberry, 73 of Somerville, Alabama died Tuesday August 30, 2016 at her residence.
Ms. Thornberry was born July 13, 1943 in Morgan County Alabama to Frank M. Whisenant and Margaret Jake Wayne Goodson Whisenant. She worked as a waitress in various restaurants. She enjoyed cooking, canning, flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Rescue United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: James Ricky Pollard, Frank Joe and Methena LeAnne Pollard; a daughter and son-in-law: Faith Nicole and Neil Campbell; grandchildren: Alicia Nichole and Wess Williams, Summer Pollard, Jessie Pollard, Charlie Pollard and Cheyanne Campbell; great grandchildren: Bentley Taylor, Trenton Posey and Chase Lynn Pollard; brothers: Larry Don Whisenant, Charles Sanford Whisenant, Robert Anthony Whisenant; sisters and brother-in-law: Shelby Jean Brookshire, Joan and Johnny Terrell. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Margaret Jake Wayne Whisenant; two brothers: Kerry Whisenant and Merrel Don Whisenant and a sister Patsy Gayle Davis.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 3, 2016 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with brother: Jimmy Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday September 2, 2016 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
