Walter Tubbs McMillen, 96, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1928, to Isom Edward and Geneva Duncan McMillen. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in South Korea in the Second Chemical Mortal Battalion during the Korean War. He was a farmer, and he sawmilled. He finally had to quit sawmilling about two years ago. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed trains, fishing and hunting, especially duck hunting. He loved his dog, Max, who went everywhere with him until his death about a year ago.

Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Tim Holsonback officiating. Burial will be in the Belmont City Cemetery.

Survivors include his niece and caretaker, Teresa Doles; one brother, Johnny McMillen (Cecilia); one sister, Minnie Warren (Elton); several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula McMillen; four brothers, Melvin Leon McMillen, Doug McMillen, Robert “Bob” McMillen; and Ernie Ray McMillen; three sisters, Sarah Warren, Clara McMillen, and Mary Jane Buchanan; and his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
