Mr. Walter Stanton Lineberry, age 91 of Middleton, passed away Tuesday evening, October 1, 2013, at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley, MS.
He was born November 27, 1921 in Hardeman County, to the late Jacob Carl and Thelma Grantham Lineberry and lived all his life in the Hornsby-Middleton area. He was a member of the Middleton 1st United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lineberry worked as a farmer and also at Hodges Grocery Store. He was Salutatorian of Middleton High School, Class of 1939.
He leaves several cousins including Faye Rowland of Walnut, MS, Billie Joe Donaldson of Warren, MI, G. B. Lineberry of Memphis, Carolyn Varble of Oklahoma, Betty Grantham, Ronnie Grantham and Ray Grantham, all of Middleton, Gerald Shelton of Bolivar, Loretta Locke of Middleton, Brad Grantham of Bolivar, Don Grantham of Bolivar, Sandra Berryman of Bolivar and Brian Lineberry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carline Lineberry Vincent; and two cousins, Hettie Lou Knutson and Gloria Tigner.
