Mr. Walter Kenneth Stewart, Jr. age 89 of McMinnville, TN, died Friday, January 14, 2022, at his residence. He was born November 16, 1932, in Harlan, KY, was a former music director, and a member of Gath Baptist Church. Mr. Stewart served his country with the U. S. Army and was preceded in death by parents Walter Kenneth and Odessa Mae Ridenour Stewart, Sr. and his first wife, Sue Stewart.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia Stewart, children Kennette Dixon, Kelvin (Jennifer) Bond, Derick Bond, and Vanessa (Drew) Walker, grandchildren McKenna (Justin) Proffitt, Allie (Tyler) Morton, Jacob (Destiny) Bond, Dakota Bond, Kara (Caleb) Ware, Michelle Bond, Isabella Bond, Caleb Bond, Levi Bond, Peyton Bond, Gideon Walker, Grayson Walker, Kingston Walker, Willow Walker, and Piper Walker, and great-grandchildren Rhilyn Bond, Avery Bond, Elias Ware, and Titus Ware.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Roger Stacey and Rick Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Military grave rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064. The Stewart Family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
