Walter G. Tallent, Sr. of Frankewing passed away in peacefully in his sleep on December 5, 2017. He was born in Frankewing, Tennessee on August 20, 1924 and was 93 years old.
He attended Frankewing and Beech Hill schools and served in the Army during WW2. After the war he became a master mason contractor and operated a construction company in Chicago, Illinois for several years before returning to Tennessee. Upon returning in 1970 he farmed and provided masonry services in Giles county and the surrounding areas. He later operated food & beverage establishments as well as a service station for many years. He always loved farming and raising his cattle.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 27th from 10:00am until 12:00 pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service and burial will be held at Wright Cemetery on Saturday, January 27th at 1:00pm with full military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Marie Collins-Tallent, parents, George Henry Tallent and Bettie Prosser-Tallent, brothers, Carl T. Tallent, Leonard Tallent, and sister, Marry Tallent-Simpson.

Daughter, Rosemarie Tallent-Yoon (Charles) of Memphis, Tennessee
