Walter Dennis Ham – Obituary

Graveside service for Walter Dennis Ham, 60, of Trinity will be today at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, July 22, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home. Mr. Ham was born July 14, 1953, to Jesse B. Ham and Leta Ivey Ham in Perry County. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse B. Ham; and one granddaughter, Hannah Caitlynn Rogers. He was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. Mr. Ham retired after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked in post offices in Marion, Selma, Decatur and Hartselle before retiring as postmaster in Hayneville. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, hunting and riding his bicycle. He loved life, his family, and being “PopPop” to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bolton Ham; one son, Jeffrey Paul (Katie) Ham of Kennessaw, GA; one daughter, Trista Ham (Robert Isaac) Rogers III; two grandaughters, Grace Lynn Rogers and Lily Anne Rogers; his mother, Leta Ivey Ham; one brother, Michael (Cheryl) Ham of Northport; one sister, Sandra (James C.) Smedley Jr. of Statesville; and many uncles, aunts, neices, and nephews.
