Walter Coleman Murray, 95, passed away on Saturday Sept. 21, 2013. Visitation will be 2-2:45 p.m. Monday at Colbert Memorial Chapel in Tuscumbia. His graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Bro. Gary Carter of Park Terrace Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sheffield is officiating.
Mr. Murray is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Brown Murray.
He is survived by his two daughters; Mary M. Jackson and Ida M. Davis (James W.); grandchildren, David, Jill , Allison and Brad; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Riley, Mary, Molly, Davis, Gray and Hayes.
Mr. Murray enjoyed golfing and gardening and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Sheffield Public Library or the American Cancer Society .
Colbert Memorial Chapel, Tuscumbia is directing.
