Walter “Buck” Tidwell, 77, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at his residence. He was a 1958 graduate of Lexington High School. He worked at Standard Coffee Company and retired from Reynolds Alloys. Buck loved farming and fishing. He was a sports enthusiast, great athlete, and known to many for his involvement in Rogersville Youth League.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Dr. Sam Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery. Grandsons and granddaughters will serve as pallbearers; honorary, Randy Hines and Larry Bailey.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Tidwell; wife, Dixie Tidwell; siblings, Kathy McDonel, Martha Jones, and Mack Tidwell; and granddaughter, Samantha Tidwell.
He is survived by his children, Ray (Linda) Tidwell, Donna (Ralph) Nix, Jerry (Kathy) Tidwell, and Barry (Deanna) Tidwell; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Townsend; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
