Wade AndertonWade Lowe Anderton, a resident of Alexandria, VA, age 80 years old, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, at INOVA hospital in Alexandria, Virginia. He was raised in Lewisburg, TN, and was a longtime resident. At the time of his death, Wade was an employee of Fort Belvoir Army Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Lowe and Sybil Norene Anderton. He is survived by his wife, Danica Anderton of Alexandria; his sons, Anthony (Wendy) Anderton of Sevierville, TN, and Jeffery (Michelle) Anderton of Corryton, TN. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda (Paul) Wallace and Linda (Glenn) Liggett of Lewisburg, TN, and his brothers, Joe ( Lorry) Anderton of Collierville, TN, Jerry (Rhonda) Anderton of Florence, AL, and Marvin (Onita) Anderton of Hillsboro, AL. He is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Wade attended the Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville, TN, where he represented his school in the Key Club of America. He also represented the USA in the Special Olympics Track & Field. He was an outstanding basketball player and was named All American in 1962 and 1963. He graduated in 1964.

Wade loved his family and friends, and he was especially close to his many friends in the deaf community. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

The Celebration of Life Service for Wade will be held at the Rogersville Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm (CT). Burial will follow at the Providence Cemetery in Town Creek, Alabama.
