Funeral services for W.W. ‘Buddy’ Smith, 80, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3rd at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pastors John Jenkins and John Bussman officiating with interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10-11.

Mr. Smith passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1936 in Pike County, AL to Alvie and Dollie Smith. He was retired from Eastern Airlines. He was a U.S. Marine, and an active supporter and volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as an elder at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for several years. He will live on through the many lives he touched.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Hazel Carraway.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carol Hughes Smith; son, Donald (Marla) Smith; daughter, Vicki (Bill) Smith Wetmore; grandchildren, Griffin Smith, Justin (Rachel) Wetmore, Brent Wetmore, Jessica (Sam) Rickles; great-grandchildren, Savannah Wetmore, Wesley Wetmore; and nieces, nephews, family and friends.
