W. T. “Butch” Willingham Jr., age 72 of Tuscumbia, died Sunday, July 24, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at South Highland Free Will Baptist Church with Shiloh Hackett officiating. His body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
“Butch” was a native of Sheffield and was a member of South Highland Free Will Baptist church. He served three tours in Vietnam, was a former police officer with the cities of Tuscumbia and Sheffield and was a retired guard with TVA. He was preceded in death by his father, W. T. Willingham Sr.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Mary Willingham; his mother Helen Willingham; son, Brandon Willingham wife Denise and their children, Roberta Willingham and Adrian Willingham, daughter; Tammy Morrison, husband Butch and their daughters, Ashley New and Gennifer May; sisters, Barbara Ann Thomas and Elizabeth Hightower; and three great grandchildren, Jayden New, Jacelynn New and Audrey Cleveland.
Pallbearers are Quentin New, Byron Smith, Tony Cooly, Lee Osborn, David Osborn and Larry Crosswhite.
The Willingham family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially Kana, Fran, Jamie, Kim, Kyle, and Brian, and also to his church family especially Brother Shiloh Hackett.
