W. N. Griffin was born June 12, 1929 in Greenfield, TN the son of the late William Leroy and Virgie Templeton Griffin. Mr. Griffin departed this life on January 24, 2016 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 7 Months, 12 Days.
He was united in marriage to Annie Lee Blankenship on September 20, 1946 and they made their home in Henderson. Mrs. Griffin preceded him in death on November 5, 2015 . He worked as an electrician for Southwest Tennessee Electric for a few years, and later worked for Edwards Bag Company in Bemis, TN. He also farmed for many years. He loved raising a large garden annually and going to the coffee shop regularly. He was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Lynn Griffin and wife Lonna of Hobbs, NM, Alan Griffin and wife Sandy of Snowflake, AZ; a sister, Dorothy Robertson of Saltillo, TN; three grandchildren, Bill Griffin and wife Kimberly of Hobbs, NM, Lee Marx and husband Werner of Kingwood, TX, Deanna Conners of Henderson, TN; six great grandchildren, Haylee Conners of Henderson, TN, Colton Conners of Henderson, TN, Ashlyn Griffin of Tatum, NM, Ethan Marx of Kingwood, TX, Ava Griffin of Tatum, NM, Lauren Marx of Kingwood, TX.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Griffin; four sisters, Ruth Holmes, Johnnie Jackson, Mary Ann Edwards, Gertrude Patterson.
Services will be held on January 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors-Johnson Chapel in Henderson, Tennessee, with Les Keen officiating. Burial will follow in the Chester County Memory Gardens at Henderson, Tennessee.
