W. L. Wooten, age 76, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1938, to Walker and Nell Wooten in Hulaco, AL.
He is survived by his daughters, Joanna Wooten, of Hartselle, Kellie (Kevin) Richard, of Decatur, and Lana (Randall) Herchenhahn, of Falkville; sisters, Margaret Ellenburg, of Rockledge, FL and Erma Wright, of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Justin (Meaghan) Wagnon, Brittany (Rodney) Ice, Taylor Herchenhahn, Katie Herchenhahn, Sarah Grace Smith, Annah Richard, and Gray Newberger; great- grandchildren, Dustin Cornhill, Aubry Ice, Maggie Ice, and Wyatt Wagnon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Wooten; parents, Walker and Nell Wooten; sisters, Grace Dick, Carolyn Bagwell, and June Morrow.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Brookwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Page, Dennis Roberts, Bill Keeble, David Dick, Justin Wagnon and Bruce Wagnon.
