W.L. Howell, 81, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School and an electrician with IBEW Local No. 558. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and loved riding his motorcycle.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, Luster and Nela Howell; son, Christopher Alan Howell; and sister, Martha Henson.
He is survived by his children, Darryl Howell, Cheryl (Terry) Whaley, Shannon Howell, and Jodi (Robert) Miller; grandchildren, Jamie (Mary) Gray, Hannah Birdwell, Justin Clark, and Miranda Miller; siblings, Areeda Howell Schneider (Joe) Stampley, Darry Howell (Ted) Towry, and Roger Dale Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
