Celebration of Life for W.D. Tucker, 77, of Decatur will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church with Reverend Scotty Hogan officiating. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Tucker, who died Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Birmingham, was born in Perry County, AL to Dee Tucker and Berta Walker Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Janice Tucker (Lucas); two sons, Brian Tucker of Decatur and Jason Tucker of Daphne; one daughter, Christy Reese (Chad) of Decatur; one sister, Jean Osborne of Centerville; four grandchildren, Tye Wise, Caleb Tucker, Amanda Tucker and Blake Tucker and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tucker was a charter member of Westmeade Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the choir and Sunday school teacher. He worked at Wolverine Tube for 36 years. Mr. Tucker was a volunteer with the National Park Service, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Wolverine Credit Union board member for 32 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Alabama football.
