voncelleVonscelle T. Fretwell, age 81, Russellville, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her residence.

Vonscelle was an avid Alabama fan, a great cook, but most of all, a wonderful mother. She loved her family and friends dearly, and they loved her.

The visitation will 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 01, 2016 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. James McCullar. Burial will be at Jonesboro Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy O. Fretwell; son, Randy W. Fretwell; parents, Clinton Thompson and Adle Mayfield; brothers, Kermit Thompson, Mack Thompson; and sister, Janet McKinnon.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Billy R. Fretwell (wife, Wanda), Linda Blackburn (husband, Gary), Ron Fretwell (wife, Vee), Kathy Kimbrough (husband, John), Douglas Fretwell (wife, Denise), and Annette Fretwell. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kevin Blackburn, Kristi Dempsey (husband, Terry), Beth Fretwell, Robbie Fretwell, April Gandy, Ashley Gandy, Maggie Riddle (husband, Shane), Billy Ryan Fretwell, Jessica Seay (husband, Brandon), Dylan Fretwell, Jonah Fretwell, Abby Fretwell; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Aubrey, & Xandra Riddle, Ethan, Jase, & Noah Fretwell, Braxton, Katie, Gracie, & Emma Dempsey; Elana Blackburn, Madison Seay, Blake & Matthew Williams, Simeon Broome, Levi Bryant, Malachi Minor, Uriah Thompson; great-great-grandchild, Gavin Craig; siblings, Ray Thompson (wife, Sharron), Christine Trapp (husband, Rayon), Betty Smith, Alton Thompson, Sandra Marshall, Mary Edwards (husband, Robert), Vickie Lambert (husband, Jerry); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Robbie Fretwell, Matthew Williams, Brent Elliott, Byron Fretwell, and Terry Dempsey.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of North Alabama and a very special thank you to our special nurse, Kassie Brown, for all your love and care of our family.
