FLORENCE-The Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter would like to invite you to join its amazing team of volunteers who assist with the maintenance and overall preservation of the animals in our community. Dog walking, general cleaning, transportation, kennel assistance, cat/kitten room care, and event support are examples of ways you can help your community and support the healthy continuation of its animal population. Additionally, volunteers can provide care by fostering an animal or helping with other programs offered by the shelter such as “Doggy Day Out.”
If you are interested in becoming a member of the volunteer team, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Chapel King, at (256) 648-0221, to arrange a schedule that will fit your needs and interests. The Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter encourages individuals and groups, even families, to participate in the volunteer program; however, children under sixteen must be accompanied by an adult family member.
The Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter is located at 702 E. College Street in Florence. Hours of operation are as follows:
Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
