FLORENCE HARBOR – According to one of the boaters who pitched in early this morning, the mission is to “help the families have some closure”. Ever since brothers, Jacob and Jeremiah Sanders disappeared March 2nd while on a fishing trip beneath Wilson Dam, Colbert and Lauderdale rescue personnel have been intently scouring the swift waters of the Tennessee River. But to no avail. It has been a heart wrenching time for the families and friends of these two popular young men.
So this morning, a couple of dozen people, off duty law enforcement personnel and civilians alike, met at the boat ramp to offer whatever help they could to bring this grim episode to a conclusion. They had no illusions. The sky is overcast, so there’s not much visibility. Pickwick Lake is big; and they are intending to look downstream from Seven Mile Island to the Natchez Trace Bridge and beyond.
But they are out on the water still.
