Bro. Vollie Lee (Sam) Thompson was born
February 10, 1939 to Bob and Jimmy Thompson.
He was the only son from this union. He
peacefully departed this earthly life on August 26,
2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center.
He was united in marriage to Clara Thompson
and remained for 52 years until her earthly
departure.
He was a member of Chandlers Temple C.M.E.
Church. Sam loved to garden, hunting, cooking,
and fishing.
He had a good belief in his faith and stood as a
man of his word and was not afraid to speak the
truth.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children: (2)
daughters: Eva Hampton (Bobby) of Itawamba
County, Jojean Coleman of Verona, MS; (3) sons:
Jackie Jones (Sondra) of Arkansas, Robert
Thompson (Alfreda) of Newton, MS and Bobby
Thompson of Verona; his sister: Mattie Ashby of
Dayton, OH; (2) nieces; (12) grandchildren; (16)
great-grandchildren; (2) great great-grandchildren,
and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His wife, daughter, mother and father preceded
him in death
