Vivian Lee Rickard, 72, of Tuscumbia, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will be Monday, March 13th at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ken Delano officiating. Burial will be inNew Hope Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers are Troy Rickard, Stan Rickard, Ethan Rickard, Cliff Robbins, Jarvis Atkins, Nathan Atkins, Will Atkins and Bryant Mauldin.
She was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her husband, Leslie Ross Rickard, Jr.; parents, Donald and Gertrude Atkins.
Survivors are her children, Lisa Taylor (Ken), Troy Rickard (Lisa) and Stan Rickard; brother, Don Atkins (Linda); grandchildren, Cliff Robbins (Nicole), Paige Robbins, Ethan Rickard, Emily Rickard, Terrell Ross Rickard and Will Rickard; and great-grandson, Noah Robbins.
Our home was a place of love, laughter, fun, lessons learned, hard times, and forgiveness. Above all, Christianity was taught. Our parents showed love and compassion to all. They were birth parents to three, but adopted parents to many. We will miss mom, but cherish the memories of her laughter and good cooking.
