Mrs. Vivian Joyce Hoffman, age 82, of McMinnville, TN, died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at her home. She was born January 27, 1941, in McMinnville, TN, was a teacher with the Metro Public School System and a cosmetologist, and was of the Church of Christ faith. She loved traveling, playing the slot machines, playing cards, reading, Powder Puff racing, and sports – especially the Titans. She played basketball in her youth, was a majorette, and was known by family and friends as “Queen Bee”. Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Douglas and Mabel Irene Bess Hobbs, brother Ray Douglas Hobbs, and sister Myrna Hobbs Pedigo.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years Joel Hoffman, her children Anthony Sloan, Kim (Eric) Sloan, and Shelley (Jessie “Bubba”) Josey, daughter-in-law Tena Sloan, nephew Tony (Tish) Lockhart, nieces Gwen (Keith) Chisam, Sherry (Dewayne) Hickey, and Candee Hobbs-Craig and husband Ronnie, and nephew Jeff (Phyllis) Hobbs, grandchildren Jensen Sloan, Zac (Hannah) Johnson, Daniel (Kaelynn) Waggoner, and David “Little Anthony” Koehler, honorary great-grandchild Cruz Adams, and great grandchildren Aiden Johnson, Hadley Johnson, Walker Waggoner, Ruby Waggoner, Kenden Koehler, and Weston Koehler.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 16, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Family will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
