Virginia Timbs Abbott, 89, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at Generations of Red Bay. She was born in Alabama and worked as a seamstress at Blue Bell for more than twenty years. Virginia was a member of Old Union Baptist Church, Belmont, MS.
Services will be Sunday, August 31, 4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jerry Ginn officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 31, 3-4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a sister, Dulcie Ellen Green and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hose Timbs and Dasie Sappington Timbs; her husband, David Abbott; two brothers, Sanford and Winford Timbs and two sisters, Yvonne Timbs and Shirley White.
