Funeral service for Virginia Speakman Sims, 93, will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patsy Carlberg and Rev. David Teel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Forrest Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sims died on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born October 1, 1922, in Morgan County to Thomas Lee Speakman and Mattie Elizabeth Ward Speakman. She was a member of Forrest Chapel UMC and a Volunteer of “The Caring Place”. She was a homemaker and formerly worked for Maison Morgan in retail sales. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wallace A Sims, three brothers: Howard Speakman, T.L. Speakman and Simon Speakman, five sisters: Lucy Roberts, Lois Story, Julia Wallace, Bonnie Flowers, and Elizabeth Parsons and a son-in-law: Vic Lombardo.
