Virginia Loraye Moser Shirley, 93 of Muscle Shoals, passed away on March 29, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Josh Shirley will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Loraye was born at home on September 3, 1929 to the late Ed and Grace Harvell Moser in Gid, Arkansas. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Ed Moser; Daughter, Paula Underwood Owen; and sisters, Gaye Tate and Treva Davidson.
Loraye is survived by her husband of 76 years, Paul E. Shirley; son, Jim Shirley and wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Joshua and wife, Amanda Shirley of Athens, Jordan and wife, Meagan Shirley of Tuscumbia, Scott and wife, Teri Lynne Underwood of Muscle Shoals, and Greg and wife, Jessie Underwood of Muscle Shoals; great grandchildren, Casiday and husband, Alex Aday, Greer, Bauer, and Samuel Underwood, Harper, Hope, and Hannah Shirley, and Lyla Kate, Hudson, and Caroline Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Greg Underwood, Jordan Shirley, Alex Aday, Matt Wimberly, Bauer Underwood, and Gene Balentine.
