Virginia Wylette Robinson Jones, 92, realized the promises of her faith and met her Creator at 2:21 PM Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. Born in Abbeville, Lafayette County, MS. on Aug. 7, l926 to William Horace and Ruby Betts Robinson, she attended public schools there. She met and married Guy William “Bill” Jones, Jr. in California in l945 as World War II ended. Ginny and Bill and their family moved from California to Tupelo in l971. Her working life included stints with several trucking companies as well as FMC as a billing clerk. After retirement, she loved sitting with and caregiving to the elderly. A devout Christian, Ginny had a bubbly personality, a generous smile and a positive attitude about life. She loved gospel music and even with the death of three children and her husband, she continued to maintain her cheerful disposition. Ginny loved writing letters and personally decorating each envelope. A master cook and gardener, she blessed many souls with her constant words of encouragement. She was a longtime faithful member of Good News/King’s Gate Church.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Januar 6, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her pastor, Terry Garrett officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Sunday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends. Ginny leaves behind her two daughters, Patti Kennedy (Patrick) and Cindy Jones all of Tupelo; 19 grandchildren, 40 plus great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and their families. 2 sisters, Frances Todd (James, deceased) of Tupelo and Carolyn console (Louie) of Temeculion, Calif. A brother, Bill Robinson (Ina, deceased) of Huntington Beach, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill in 2006 and 3 children, Gary Jones in l998, Randy Jones in 2016 and Dianne Jones Burns in 2018.
