Virginia Clement Cox – Obituary

Virginia-Cox-1431015992Virginia Clement Cox, age 92, of Tuscumbia Alabama passed away peacefully in her home on May 6, 2015. Services will be held at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Alabama, at 11am on Saturday May 9, visitation for family and friends at 10am prior to the services. Internment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield, Alabama.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sandy Ginn, Madison, Alabama, Cheryl and her husband, Byron Schrader, Colorado Springs, CO; son, Randy Cox and his fiancée, Nancy Collins, Lake Wylie, SC; grandsons, Michael Whitten, Memphis TN, Scotty Whitten, Madison, Alabama; granddaughters, Hannah and Celli Schrader; and great-grandson, Charles (Chaz) Whitten. Lifelong friends include Liz Couch and R.B. Whitten, and extended relatives throughout Colbert and Franklin Counties.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband James G. Cox and her son Thomas Ray Cox, her mother and father Thomas Marion & Alberta Clement, Sheffield Alabama, sister, Elizabeth Rathbun, Long Beach California.

The family wishes to thank all those who have cared for our mother including Hospice of North Alabama, Cottage of the Shoals, and Keller Memorial Hospital. Special thanks are extended to Laura Gann with Hospice of North Alabama.

In lieu of flowers the family request that any gifts be made to Hospice of North Alabama in the name of Virginia Cox.
