Virgil Weldon Calvert – Obituary

Virgil Weldon Calvert age 90 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Athens Rehab and Senior Center. Mr. Calvert was born April 9, 1923 to Virgil Calvert and Clee Musgrave.

Services for Mr. Calvert are Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Keith Burnett and Craig Calvert officiating.

He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. He was a WWII Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Burnett Calvert; parents, Virgil Calvert and Clee Calvert Parcel and Step-father Albert Parcel; half-brother Paul Parcel and infant sister, Ruth Parcel.

He is survived by his daughter, Burnetta Calvert Murrell and husband Bill of Athens; sons, Randy Calvert and wife Kathy of Hartford, KY and Craig Calvert and wife Kerri of Athens; grandchildren, Brent Murrell and wife Becky, Janae Mohon and husband Micah, Brad Murrell and wife Tiffany, Jarren Decker and husband Josh, Brittney Murrell, Grant Calvert and wife Courtney, Alexander Calvert and Elizabeth Anne Calvert; great-grandchildren, Emily Mohon, Kayla Mohon, Kristen Mohon, Andrew Murrell, Samuel Murrell, Jacob Murrell, Luke Murrell, Kylie Murrell and Vivianne Decker; and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers are Brent Murrell, Brad Murrell, Alexander Calvert, Grant Calvert, Micah Mohon and Josh Decker. Honorary pallbearers are the Elders and Deacons of the Eastside Church of Christ.

The family would also like to thank the Staff of Limestone Manor, the Staff of Athens Rehab and Senior Center and the Staff of Athens Internal Medicine. They would also like to thank our Veterans and all who serve to protect our country.
