Virgil Brian (PeeWee) Elkins, 68, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2024. His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Brian was a longtime resident of Gadsden, Alabama and graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1974.
Brian had a deep passion for Alabama football, always cheering on his beloved team with unmatched enthusiasm. In addition to his love for football, Brian enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found with a Miller Lite in his hand, sharing laughter with friends and family. He also cherished his time on the golf course, where her found solace in the game and camaraderie with his fellow golfers.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Martha Elkins.
He is survived by his two daughters: Molly Elkins of Denver, CO, and Laney (Robert) Buergelin of Noblesville, IN along with two grandsons, Isaac and Cameron Buergelin. Brian is also survived by his two sisters, Rosa and Arleen; close nephew, Brian Elkins; cousin, Dennis Elkins, and several other family members in both Alabama and Indiana.
Brian’s kindness and warm spirit touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, let us all celebrate the life he lived and the countless memories he created.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later date to honor and remember Brian. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
