Virgie Louise (Vandiver) Liles Obituary Virgie Louise Vandiver Liles was born February 16, 1940 in Town Creek, AL to the late Olen and Virginia Scott Vandiver. She had a great love for reading and especially enjoyed reading books about the Amish. In the quiet, still moments of life, she could often be found watching the birds around her home. The greatest joys in her life were found in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren. She was truly happiest when her family was nearby. Ms. Liles was a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesboro demonstrating a faith in her Lord and Savior that was paramount. She departed this life on Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Waynesboro, TN with her loving family by her side, making her stay in this life some 86 years and 6 days.

 

Survivors include her children, Lynn Butler and husband Ricky; Patricia Davis both of Waynesboro, TN; David Liles and wife Donna of Ethridge, TN; one sister, Betty Green; one brother, Doug Vandiver both of Tuscumbia, AL; she is also survived by five grandchildren, Corey Bennett; Kerra Gobbell and husband Doug; Kelli Brewer and husband Chad; Jessica Simmons and husband Tim; Megan Yarbro and husband Tim;  eight great grandchildren, Jordan Bennett and wife Amber; Isabella Bennett; Reece Brewer; Brody Simmons; Eliot Gobbell; Olen Yarbro; Tyson Simmons; Conner Yarbro; and two great-great grandchildren, Keaston Bennett; Kohen Bennett

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Vandiver and one sister, Doris Kurek

 

Visitation with the Liles family will be on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation

 

Memorial Services will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Mickey Brackin officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be given to First Baptist Church Waynesboro blessing box.
