Mrs. Virgia May Thompson, 96, of Florence passed away on November 02, 2015 at Cypress Cove Care and Rehab Center. She served our country in the Navy during WWII. She retired as a licensed practical nurse.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Thompson was held on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husbands, Allen Drake and Edward Thompson; brothers, Edward. R. May and Howard May; sisters, Pearl Williams, Christine Honey, Annie Ruth Hale, Martha Lou May and Wylodean Blasingame.
Survivors include her brother, Jasper Newton May, Jr. of Florence, AL along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to two special nurses from Gentiva Hospices, Kay Holt and Tangy Jackson along with the employees of Cypress Cove Care and Rehab Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter.
