Violet Owens Rhodes age 82 of Dora, passed away Thursday September 7, 2017. She was a member of Sumiton Church of God and was retired from her job as Secretary at Empire School.
Funeral service will be Monday September 11, 2017 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Pastor Victor Massey and Rev. Lane Sargent will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ezra “Junior” Rhodes; parents, Albert and Virgie Owens; brother, Edward Owens and sister, Faye Stephens.
Survivors include her children, Anita Henderson (Dave), Danny Rhodes, Jerry Rhodes and Dennis Rhodes (Lisa); nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; sister, Louise Francis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
