Viola V. Jones, 69 of Union Grove passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at Marshall Medical Center North. Viola was born January 11, 1951 in Blount County the daughter of Wiley Bud Bailey and Christine Speegle Bailey. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and married to the late Jerry Jones.
She is survived by Daughter: Tammy Maze of Union Grover; Son: Stoney Jones (Lisa) of Blountsville; Sister: Mary Holloway of Arab; Eight Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Husband: Jerry Jones and Son: Joshua Jones.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020, at New Friendship Baptist Church with Bo Shedd officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gober Funeral Chapel. She will also lie-in-state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Ethan O’Rear, Landon O’Rear, Randy Murphree, Drake Jones, Justin Jones, Alan Sloat and Billy Sanford.
