Viola Moore Parker

Mrs. Viola Moore Parker Ms. Viola Moore Parker transitioned on Saturday evening, April 26, 2025.  Viola was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Cornell Moore and Mrs. Paralee Taylor Moore; her niece, Kimberly Y. Jackson; and nephew, Maurice Ewing.

Viola attended grade school at the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church School.  She later transferred to William Hooper Council High School. She was voted “Miss Council High” during her Senior year.  She was a member of the Award-Winning Band as a “High Stepping Majorette”, under the direction of Mr. Edwin Hill. Viola was known by her friends as soft-spoken, quiet and focused.  She was never in a hurry and thus given the nickname “Slow Walk”!

Viola Moore was married to the late Pastor James D. Parker.  They were parents to three devoted, beautiful children: Lionel D. Parker of Atlanta, Ga., Emile D. Parker (Mary) of Madison, AL, and Angela Parker of Atlanta, GA, 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Viola will be truly missed by all of her family and friends, especially her 5 siblings, Mardell Moore Ewing (Alex), Cornell Moore II, Eurdis Nyoka Moore-Walker, Horace Moore and Iva M. Moore, 1 nephew, Roderick Ewing (Kim); 1 niece, Verzelia Jackson; 2 great nephews and 3 great nieces all of Huntsville, AL.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, 291 Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, Atlanta, Ga 30318.  Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta, Ga is in charge.
