FLORENCE-On Sunday morning, September 27 Florence Police Officers were involved in a pursuit that resulted in the arrest of one man. Here is the statement from the Florence Police Department:
“Yesterday morning at approx. 9 am officers with the Florence Police Department observed a vehicle, later found to be occupied by James Burress, run several red lights along Florence Blvd. Officers gave chase. Mr. Burress led police on a pursuit throughout the city of Florence and into Muscle Shoals. The pursuit resulted in Mr. Burress’ arrest on the charges listed. One police car was damaged when Mr. Burress backed into it prior to his arrest. No injuries were reported.”
Burress, 59 is currently in the LCDC on bond totaling $16,200. No injuries were reported in the pursuit. 6 counts of Reckless Endangerment, 1 count of Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement, 1 count DUI/Drugs, 1 count Criminal Mischief 3rd, 1 count Possession of Marijuana, 1 count of Drug Paraphernalia use/possession, 1 count Carrying a Pistol W/O License, 1 count of Reasonable and Prudent Speed, 1 count Failure to Yield Right-Of-Way, 2 counts Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road, 11 counts of Improper Lane Usage, 3 counts Improper Turn and 1 count Reckless Driving.
