Mrs. Vilar Nadine Butler, 83, died Sunday, March 17, 2019 at North MS Medical Center Hospice Unit after an extended illness. She was born in Tippah County, MS, to James Holley and Annie Smith Holley. She was a graduate of Kossuth High School and worked many years as a bookkeeper employed by Transport Trailer Service, Inc. Nadine was a member of Holly Baptist Church in Corinth. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and traveling all over. In later years, she ran a paper route with her husband, Dennis Butler in Mantachie for the NEMS Daily Journal.
A celebration of her life and home-going will be at 11 AM Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Roy Alexander and Bro. James Robinson officiating, assisted by her son, Richard Broadway. Private burial will follow in Pratts Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 PM – 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM – service time. Survivors include her children, Richard Broadway (Debra Akers) of Tupelo, Rodney White of Cape Coral, FL, and Lori Smink of Lake Piomingo; six grandchildren, Jason Broadway, Dustin Broadway, Adrian McCollum, Brandon Smink, Chelsea Smink, and Shelby Smink; 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Perry Bruadway and second husband, Dennis Butler; two sisters, Onella “Bit” Barker and Rachel Sexton.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Collier, Lyle Collier, Laney Harlow, Brandon Smink, Rich Johnson, and Jason Broadway.
