Dr. Victor Nash passed away on February 28, 2025 at The Starkville Manor.

He was born September 27, 1928 to Marcus and Stella Nash in Franklin County, Kentucky. He was raised on a farm in Franklin County. He attended high school at Bald Knob in Franklin County.

He served in the Army after graduating from high school. After his time in service, he attended the University of Kentucky, earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree in agronomy. He attended the University of Missouri where he earned a doctorate in Agronomy. Victor met his wife, Ruth Joyce Meine, while attending the university in Missouri. After graduation, he did research work with Cities Service Oil Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then moved his family to Starkville, MS, where he was a professor of graduate studies in Agronomy at Mississippi State University until his retirement.

Dr. Nash was a positive influence for his family. His Christian faith was very important to him. He served in various positions in his home church, as deacon, Sunday School teacher, over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of 68 years; his children, Vickie Gatlin (Scott), Diane Tramel (Neil), Mark Nash, and Jerry Nash (Tracy); grandchildren, Adriene Tramel Richey (Jon), Aaron Tramel, Lee Honeycutt, Ashley Honeycutt, Alexandria Nash, Grant Nash; and great grandchild, Evangeline Ruth Richey.

Dr. Nash was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Stella Nash; brothers, Garnett and Marcus; sister, Margarete; half-brothers, Ervin and Richard; and half-sisters, Pearl, Lizzy, and Linney.

Special thanks to Legacy Hospice and the staff at Starkville Manor who took such phenomenal care of daddy in his last few months.

There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family.

Memorials can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, Adaton Baptist Church, or a charity of choice.
