Victims And Shooter Identified In Double Homicide

hamiltonHAMILTON-Marion County District Attorney Jack Bostick says two people, one in a law office and another in an accounting firm are dead.   Marion County authorities identified the   two victims and the suspect in a double murder in Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon, February 10.

The victims were identified as Linda Cole, 61, and Donny Miller, 67, both of Hamilton.

The suspect is identified as Jimmy Cooper, a 57-year-old man who law enforcement officials said did not have a criminal background.  He was shot in the leg and arm with non-life threatening injuries according to the district attorney.  Cooper is currently in the UAB Hospital.

Capital murder charges are expected according to a statement given by District Attorney Bostick.

 

The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Investigators are still in the process of interviewing witnesses and taking statements.

ALEA is investigating the officer-involved shooting portion of the incident. The Hamilton Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the double homicide.
