Vickie Lyn Gossett Dunnavant, age 69, passed away at her home in Pulaski on June 5, 2026 after a short illness. She was born in Athens, AL on February 24, 1957.
Vickie obtained her BS degree from Calhoun College and Athens State. She was an exceptional athlete excelling in every sport she pursued. Vickie had several occupations over the years including teacher, cabinet maker, aerobics instructor and in general management at Davis and Eslick grocery store.
She is survived by her partner, Martha Jane McIntyre, their chosen daughter, Laila Nipper, beloved pets Lillie Belle and Cooper Dean, brothers, Sam Gossett, and Tim (Kathy) Gossett both of Athens, AL. Several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roland and Florence (Tot) Thomas Gossett. Her sister Belinda Gossett along with her sister-in-law, Connie Gossett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 6:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Pastor Kiley Jackson officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Angel Fund at the Animal Clinic and Lodge at Ingram Farms c/o 3397 Beech Hill Rd, Pulaski, TN 38478 honoring Vickie’s love and compassion for animals by helping needy pets receive the care they deserve, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
