Vertie Virginia Jett, age 87 passed away January 3rd, 2024. Funeral will be at 11:00am Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at Empire Church of God. The visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, January 5th, 2024 at Bell Funeral Home Chapel in Sumiton. Mickey Jett will officiate. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens.
Preceding her in death is her husband Allmon L. Jett, her parents, Ben Gunter and Leita Gunter, and her stepmom, Elura Gunter. Her siblings, Arnold, Melvin “Mac”, James “Will”, Talmagel “Tag”, and Howard Gunter, Olean Williams, Gaynale “Gay” Burtis, Mary Lou Weldon, Step-Sisters, Annette Williams, Leita Light.
Survivors include her children, Donna Fike (Jim), Mickey Dale (Nanette) Jett, and Michael (Lisa) Jett. Her grandchildren, Caleb Fike, Lauren Key, Mickey Lee Jett, Benjamin Singleton II, Colin Jett, Luke Jett, Megan Jett, Zachary Jett, Blake Jett, and Micah Jett. Her great grandchildren, Katheryn Fike, Emma Key, Olivah Key, and Havilah Jett, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
