Vernon Carol "Cowboy" RolinVernon Carol “Cowboy” Rolin, 77 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Rolin was born on May 13th, 1946, in Ardmore, Tennessee, to Lige Rolin and Anna Bell Russell Rolin.

Mr. Rolin is survived by his wife Janis Rolin; sons Jason Lynn Rolin (Amy), Jimmy Rolin, and Jason Massey (Mikki); daughters Sharon Boyd (Paul) and Mikki Wooten (Kasey); 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Rolin; sisters Rose Thomlin, Helen Cunningham (Dale), and Margaret Thompson (Dan); mother-in-law Mary Ann Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buddy Rolin, Tom Rolin, and Cracker Rolin; sister Sissy Woodfin; and father-in-law Verna McBay.

Funeral services for Mr. Rolin will be Thursday, February 29th, 2024, at 1:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Robbie Taymon and Mike Kelley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elliott Cemetery in Ardmore, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Bryson Massey, Andrew Boyd, Chance Waldrep, David Cunningham, Bo Rolin, and Christopher Clinard.
