Charles "Tony" SowellCharles “Tony” Sowell, 76 of Madison, passed away on Monday, February 26th, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Sowell was born on November 25th, 1947, in Athens, to Charles Wilson and Christine Owens Sowell.

Mr. Sowell is survived by his son Chris Sowell (Shelley), of Elkmont; daughter Stephanie Mann (Martin), of Harvest; grandchildren Cassidy (Spencer), Destiny (Kris), Gabe, Nathan, Briley (Blake), and Caleb; great-grandchildren Brynn and Baylor; brothers Mike Sowell (Judy), of Athens, and Joe Sowell (Anita), of Athens; sister-in-law Karla Holmes, of Athens; and special 4-legged kids Sadie and Abbie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Paula Sowell; and brother Ben Sowell.

Funeral services for Mr. Sowell will be Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Dusty McLemore officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 1st, from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Security Team.

Mr. Sowell was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church and worked as a security guard at Lindsay Lane Main Campus. He loved all the kids at Lindsay Lane. He was an avid reader and loved watching Westerns. He enjoyed being in the military and being overseas, but always loved coming back home to his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
