Verna Nova Denton, 94 of Double Springs, passed away on October 8, 2012.
She was born on March 10, 1918 in Addison. Mrs. Denton was a member of Enmond Field Baptist Church for 40 years. She worked in the school district cafeteria in California and loved working with the children. She loved people and always made the best of any situation. She always said “Don’t cry over spilled milk, pick yourself up and go again.”
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 6-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Services will be held on Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church in Upshaw Community at 11am. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty Watkins Erp and her husband Randy; and one grandchild, Neil Eric Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband JP Denton.
