Audine Jordan  Mrs. Verbel Audine Jordan, age 97, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Jordan was born June 30, 1925, in Beaverton, AL in the Webb Community, to the late John Walter and Lillie Lou Francis Morrow.  She was retired after having worked as a seamstress, nurses aide, and sitter with the elderly.  Mrs. Jordan enjoyed watching NASCAR, Crimson Tide football, crocheting, quilting, doing puzzles, word search, and working with her flowers.  She was best known for her coconut cakes, fried apple pies, and candied yams.  She was married to the late Bernard Jordan, and was also preceded in death by her son, James Jordan; her step-mother, Gladys Morrow; three brothers, Xavier Morrow, Cleo Morrow, and Jack Morrow; and her half-brother, Thurman Morrow.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 17, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bobby Coward and Darryl Ballew officiating.  Burial will follow in the Friendship South Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Chris Jordan, Jeff Wilson, Garrett Wilson, Collin Wilson, Bobby Cowart, and Grover Hankins.

Survivors include her son, Harold Jordan; four grandchildren, Donna (Jeff) Wilson, Chris (Kasey) Jordan, Michael Jordan, and Ashley Guthery; seven great-grandchildren, Garrett (Whitney) Wilson, Collin (Ashley) Wilson, Levi Jordan, Ava Jordan, Leia Thomas, Weldon Thomas, and Weston Thomas; three great-great-grandchildren, Rooks Wilson, Hollis Wilson, and Davis Hood; one half-sister, Lanetta (Jimmy) Crowe; one half-brother, Dwight (Mary) Morrow; one sister-in-law, Eunice Morrow; a host of nieces and nephews; four special caretakers, Mary Cantrell, Jeanette Westbrook, Diane Franks, and Rhonda Johnson; and her nurse, Angie Cranford.
