Mrs. Vera Thomas, affectionately known as “Mawmaw” by those who knew and loved her passed from this life on July 4, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She joins her husband, Clyde Thomas, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1991. She had a zest for life and enjoyed living it to the fullest of her 99 years. Attending church services at the Fulton Church of Christ, where she was a member, and being a member of the Dixie Red Hats were among her greatest joys in life. She loved all children, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her Daughter, San (Mike) McLeod of Fulton, Grandchildren, Missi (Brad) Chatham of Fulton, Jon (Catherine) McLeod of Water Valley, and Madison McLeod of Fulton, Great Grandchildren, Colin, Jade, Jordan, Brennen, 1 Brother, Lawrence (Opal) Williams of Fulton, 1 Sister, Gena Miles, and her family at Charleston Place Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Clyde Thomas, Parents, Monroe and Melverta Williams, 2 Sisters, Era Palmer, and Geneva Pearce, Brother, Alfred Williams.
Pallbearers will be Richard Davis, BW Ausborn, Gerald Tanner, Doug Smith, Mackey Wade, Bill Miles.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The Dixie Red Hats.
