Vera Lorece White – Obituary

Vera Lorece White, 82, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, at The Meadows. She was born January 10, 1934, to Joseph Franklin and Ida Irene Reeves Mink. She worked as a seamstress for Mantachie Manufacturing and later as a cook for the Lunch Bunch, Seafood Junction, and Countrywood Manor. While her health permitted, she was an active member of Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed gardening.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Wayne Thorn and Bro. Curtis Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry White (Lisa) and Danny White (Wanda), both of Mantachie, and Tony White (Judith) of Tupelo; two sisters, Vernell Johnson of Golden and Hazel Stephens of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Jared White (Joy), Susan Smith (Casey), Justin White (Jessica), Emily White, Brandon White (Holli), Blake White (Tiffany), and Samantha Magers (Matt); five step-grandchildren, Amanda Bridges (Jason), Daniel Pachieo, Bill Worthy, Josh Worthy, and Amy Lewis; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William White; four brothers, George T. Mink, Arlis Mink, Charles Mink, and infant Ollis Mink; one sister, Oniece Daily; her parents; and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until service time Tuesday at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy.
