Vera Lichty Kalama age 86, of Florence, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence. A memorial celebration will follow for friends at 5 p.m. at the 6-8 p.m. home of Keoni Irrigation and Landscape (3837 County Road 30, Florence, Ala.).
Vera was a native of Town Creek, Ala., and a graduate of UNA. She was a member of Leighton Methodist Church, PEO, The Garden Club, Master Gardeners, and was a board member of The Buffler House. After teaching at Waterloo, she moved to San Pedro, Calif., for more than 30 years and then returned to Colbert County, where she retired.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Raymond Lichty, and second husband, Robert M. Kibby.
Survivors include her husband, John K. Kalama; children, William Bradford Lichty, (Linda), Karen Lichty Horwith (Robert), Peter Douglass Lichty (Mary) and David Allen Lichty (Robin); sister-in-law, Corinne Hancock Bradford; grandchildren, Sarah Harmony Lichty, Monica Grace Lichty, Micah Jason Horwith, Samuel Alexander Horwith, Timothy Isaac Horwith, Heather Chastity Lichty, Raymond Gerald Lichty, Lawrence Jackson Lichty and Katherine Mae Lichty.
